Our Poor Offering
From the Book of Seven Syllables
my son's haiku
he signs his name
at the bottom 76
Tongariro
our poor offering
hides the mountain 77
Mrs Rabbit
at home he calls her
bunny 78
Raglan harbour
the low tide crabs
from the smell 79v
behind the sun
haggling over fish
seagulls for a change 80
sweet apricot
tomorrow the sun
will ruin it 81
hypnotised
by flies
must... open... window 83v
tui swoops
midnight black then
midnight blue 85
summer breeze
a spider
pendulum 90v
meadow moths
pairing up
to ride the wind 93
warm field
the butterfly dance filled
with tragedy 94v
summer field
without love
the moth lost 95
casual summer
how often birds
change names 97v
spring horizon
the sky's
pale tummy 106
high summer
station road
parts sheep 107v
summer days
pipi bubbles
in the tide 108
