Summer Around The Corner
From the Black Book Two
returning to his office
before the last bell -
a hunched Principal 281
buses groaning
another load of school kids -
the clouds barely move 283
tulips
magnificent colours - butterfly
passes them all by 285
this year
the nashi pear -
is bare 291
touching everything
the spring breeze -
practising the piano 293
the path of
the indigo butterfly -
always changing 294
fallen blossom
in the wind -
never to return 304
what treasure!
a field of gold -
buttercups 306
spring grass -
the hawks wings
are green 309
fading rain
grey are the calls
of distant gulls 314
smiling
leaning into every corner
back seat dog 315
look!
no poor cousin
the apple blossom 317
an open door -
the morning
comes in 338
another spring rain
the gum leaves
shine again 340
morning dew
never stays
to tea 341
so butterfly
you cannot pause
to talk 342
the spring evening
not so lonely
as an autumn eve 348
