Open Book
From the Grey Book
which ever way
the book is turned -
opened by the wind 276
dog in the sun
cat in the shade
my chair between 278
pausing in their play
little butterfly petals
as sparrows pass 279
dead moth
your velvet wings
still shimmer 280
after the heat -
summer stars
so cool 281
its time come
not able to return -
falling leaf 284
mosquitoes -
how would it be to sleep
without them 285
darkness -
swatting blindly
at mosquitoes 286
living their days
above the seed heads -
field butterflies 288
a great day -
every blue butterfly
has a girlfriend 289
Christmas lights
swaying from the gutters -
soon the school bell 290
planting seeds -
pausing to watch
the clouds 291
squeals -
praying mantis running
up an arm 292
higher higher
riding the thermals
to hawk heaven 293
for a moment -
the impression of
a dragonfly 295
and
the impression:
just for a moment -
of a dragonfly 295b
do not despair
your achievements linger -
bees, bugs 298
